Héloïse and Pompon
Héloïse has an extraordinary secret: she can talk to animals! Her best friend Pompon, an adorable blue-eyed rabbit, gets terribly bored when she goes to school. How will she help him never feel lonely again?
Héloïse was 10 years old and possessed an extraordinary secret: since she was very little, she could talk to animals as if they were humans. Her best friend was Pompon, an adorable little rabbit with black and white fur, and eyes as beautiful a blue as the summer sky.

Every morning, Héloïse left for school after kissing Pompon.

"See you tonight, my little Pompon!"

"Have a good day!" he replied, waving his ears.

But as soon as the door closed, Pompon sighed sadly. The long hours stretched out before him. He paced around his enclosure, nibbled his hay without appetite, and looked out the window, counting the minutes.

"Another whole day without her," he murmured.

One evening, Pompon mustered his courage:

"Héloïse... I get terribly bored when you're not here. The days are so long without you!"

Héloïse's heart sank. That night, she spent a long time thinking about a solution.

The next morning, she had a brilliant idea. She went out into the garden and came back with a ladybug, a blackbird, and a little field mouse.

"Pompon, here are your new friends! Pepita the ladybug, Monsieur Plume the blackbird, and Miette the mouse. They'll keep you company!"

At first, Pompon was shy. But soon, Pépita began to tell stories of her travels from flower to flower. Monsieur Plume sang magnificent melodies. And Miette knew a thousand extraordinary stories from the vegetable garden.

A few weeks later, Héloïse arrived with an even more wonderful surprise: a pretty grey rabbit with drooping ears and gentle eyes.

"Pompon, this is Flocon! She's going to live with us!"

Pompon and Flocon quickly became inseparable. Héloïse's days at school now flew by, between her friends in the garden and her new companion.

One spring morning, Snowflake announced some big news:

"Pompon, Héloïse... we're going to have babies!"

A few weeks later, three adorable baby rabbits joined the family: Noisette, a little all-brown female, Nuage, a snow-white male, and Caramel, a little male with golden spots.

In the evening, when Héloïse came home from school, she would find Pompon and Flocon surrounded by their three little ones who were hopping around everywhere, while Pépita, Monsieur Plume and Miette watched over them.

"Héloïse! You're back!" exclaimed Pompon and the baby rabbits joyfully in chorus.

Héloïse hugged her whole family of rabbits to her heart.

"You two are the best friends in the world!"

And every evening from then on, the garden echoed with laughter and stories shared between the little girl and her joyful family of rabbits.

Pompon was never bored again.
